Festival of Life Draws Large Crowds
Christians and churches from across the Coachell Valley united this weekend for the three-day “Festival of Life.”
Organizers say they wanted to bring the community together to hear the message of Jesus Christ.
It’s the end of nine months of outreach to more than 40,000 people.
About 15-thousand showed up this weekend.
The festival offered free medical clinics, expos, and several concerts put on by christian music groups.
“We’re in tough times,” said Eric Martin, the Assistant Director of “Festival of Life,” “and a lot of times, we’re working so hard, we have so much to do, we’re so busy with work, the internet, and we have so much to do, that we don’t have time for family, we don’t have time for friends, we don’t have time to just get together and celebrate life, and that’s what the festival is about, it’s about celebrating life.”
The first “Festival of Life” was held in 1990 in the Philippines, and it has gone to 20 different cities in the last 20 years.
