Stolen Stuffed Wolf Found Outside Local Country Club
A Hollywood prop rental company does not want to pursue charges against whoever stole a stuffed wolf after a concert at the Hotel Zoso, police said today.
The grey and white wolf — which is valued at around $10,000 and was later found in front of a Palm Springs country club — was taken Saturday from the stage of a concert for R&B singer Kelis at the hotel, 150 S. Indian Canyon Drive, said Palm Springs police Officer Melissa Desmarais.
“It was actually stuffed by a taxidermist and was used as a prop on stage,” Desmarais said.
Two wolves were used for the concert as part of the Dinah Shore Weekend — which is aimed toward a lesbian crowd.
Demarais said only one wolf was taken.
The wolf was found in front of the K-9 Country Club at the corner of Sunrise Way and Tahquitz Canyon Way and returned to Hotel Zoso, according to Desmarais.
The wolf was not damaged and was returned to the Hollywood prop rental company.
The case has been closed, Desmarais said.
