Car Drives Into Palm Desert Restaurant

Authorities are responding to reports of a car that drove into a restaurant in Palm Desert, this afternoon.

The incident involving a Lexus SUV happened at 3:00pm at Tsing Tao Chinese Cuisine near the intersection of Portola and Highway 111.

A worker at a business next-door says the restaurant was not open at the time, so there were no injuries, but the car was more than halfway into the building.

The female motorist, whose identity was not released, complained of pain and was taken to a hospital to be checked out, according to police.
