Van-Load Of Suspected Illegal Immigrants Spotted At California Border
A man driving a large van packed with about with 25 suspected illegal immigrants was arrested today in the East County after Border Patrol agents shocked him with a Taser, authorities said.
The driver bailed out of the moving vehicle after agents rolled up behind the van on Interstate 8, in between Campo and Boulevard, around 5:10 a.m., said Border Patrol Agent Mark Endicott.
After the driver bolted, the van kept slowly rolling forward until agents stopped it, Endicott said, adding that no passengers were hurt.
The driver was subdued with a Taser and taken to a hospital, according to Endicott, who did not know the extent of the man’s injuries.
