Cathedral City Man Could Get New Trial

A Cathedral City man convicted of second-degree murder in a drunk driving crash could get a new trial.

Jason Pappas, 38, is expected to be back in court today. He was supposed to be sentenced two weeks ago.

At his sentencing — it came out that one of the jurors in his trial may have been a member of the group “Mothers Against Drunk Driving.”

The judge says that if questioning proves the juror was a member of MADD, he’ll probably grant a new trial.

Pappas was facing sentencing for a drunken pursuit in 2007 that ended in a crash killing his passenger.
