Man Caught Burglarizing Pharmacy Days After Prison Release

A man is in custody after Palm Springs police said they caught him breaking into a pharmacy.

It happened around 12:20 a.m. on Tuesday when an officer found a man burglarizing the Kaiser Foundation Health Center on the 1700 block of East Vista Chino.

The suspect ran off, but officers caught up with him about a half hour later.

Mario Stewart, 51, is charged with commercial burglary, resisting arrest and violating his parole.

Stewart was released from prison only a few days ago after serving time for burglary.

Due to his parole violation, Stewart is being held without bail at the Riverside County Jail in Banning.
