Amber Alert Canceled After 13 Year Old Found In Vegas
Authorities say a 13-year-old Southern California girl who ran off with a suspected child molester she met on the Internet has been found in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas police spokeswoman Barbara Morgan says officers found Miranda Hemphill and 22-year-old Ivan Lopez at a motel on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip on Tuesday morning.
Jodi Miller of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department says they were in a van in the parking lot.
Lopez is wanted on a 2009 warrant alleging he committed a lewd act with a minor. Miller says he was turned over to the FBI and the girl, who appeared to be healthy, is being held until Southern California investigators arrive to interview her.
An Amber Alert was issued for the Victorville girl after she vanished Sunday.
