Indio Police Serve Search Warrants In 4-Year-Old’s Shooting Investigation
Indio police investigators served search warrants at six locations on Friday morning as part of their investigation into the shooting of a 4-year-old boy two weeks ago.
Adam Noah De Leon was shot in crossfire between two cars on Feb. 21 as he sat outside his home near the Riverside County Fairgrounds. He was recently upgraded to fair condition after undergoing two surgeries.
Indio police spokesman Ben Guitron said the warrants were served just before 7 a.m. in four locations near the location where the shooting happened on Monte Verde.
Police also served warrants at one location in La Quinta and another in Coachella, Guitron said.
As a result of Friday’s sweeps, several people were detained, but no one has been identified as an actual suspect.
Detectives were combing over the information they received during the warrant searches on Friday, trying to piece together what happened.
“We feel there is more than one person involved,” Guitron said.
De Leon was moved recently to another Southern California hospital, where he’s recovering from his gunshot wound.
