Three Arrested On Suspicion Of Stealing Truck

Three people, one of whom was the subject of an arrest warrant, were detained today after deputies chased down a stolen truck, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies recognized the driver of the red Dodge Ram as a wanted person — why the individual had been sought was not immediately clear — and, while attempted a traffic stop, the driver sped away.

The suspect, and two companions, were arrested around 10 a.m. near the area of Pansy Street and Veranda Lane in Indio after the driver abandoned the truck. The location is about four miles from where the Dodge was originally spotted at the intersection of Luzon Street and Avenue 48.

“We attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to yield,” sheriff’s Deputy Herlinda Valenzuela said.

The truck was determined to be stolen and all three occupants — two women and one man — were arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, Valenzuela said.
