The average price rose 57.2 cents during the streak that began Feb. 9. The increases pushed the average price to its highest amount since Aug. 20, 2008.

Despite the daily decrease, the average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is nine-tenths of a cent higher than a week ago, 40.9 cents above what it was one month ago and 85.6 cents greater than it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
