Medical Helicopter Called In To I-10 Accident East Of Indio
A woman was thrown from a vehicle that came to rest on its roof on Interstate 10 near Chiriaco Summit today, and another passenger was temporarily trapped in the wreckage, authorities said.
The vehicle overturned about 15 miles east of Indio and 3 miles east of the Cactus City rest stop about 11:30 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Ramon Perez said.
A helicopter landed nearby to take the ejected woman to a hospital, and firefighters freed another person from the wreckage, Cal Fire Capt. Jeremy Snyder said. He said the woman freed from the wreckage was not seriously hurt.
