Indio Storage Unit Catches Fire

A vehicle at the Storquest Boat and RV Storage in Indio caught fire today, but firefighters prevented flames from spreading to the rest of the facility and avoided more than $1 million in potential losses, according to Cal Fire.

The blaze was doused by 7:30 a.m. at the business located at 83614 Doctor Carreon Blvd., Melody Hendrickson of Cal Fire said.

The vehicle fire broke out in one of the storage units on the grounds, causing about $10,000 in damages. Firefighters put out the flames in 15 minutes and no other structures or vehicles at the facility were burned, Hendrickson said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, she said.
