Monday Commuters Avoid Indian Canyon After Windstorm
City crews will be out uncovering the roadway of N. Indian Canyon on Monday after a windstorm on Sunday left a “substantial” layer of sand on top of it.
The winds, which carried gusts of 65 miles-per-hour, created near-zero visibility on the stretch of roadway from the Palm Springs city limits to Interstate 10 where it crosses the Whitewater Wash.
The winds also left a layer of sand covering the road, which the City of Palm Springs calls “substantial.”
There is no estimate of when the roadway will re-open, but KESQ.com and News Channel 3 will send out breaking news alerts and let our Twitter and Facebook followers know as soon as it happens.
