Account Executive, KESQ-TV, Palm Desert, CA

Job Title: Account Executive Division/Department: Sales Position Reports to: General Sales Manager Position Supervises: N/A Location: Palm Desert, California Exempt: YES

Job Purpose and Objective The Account Executive is responsible for selling advertising and maintaining successful client relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities ?Sell spot and internet advertising to new and existing accounts, meeting or exceeding budgetary goals ?Prospect new business in local community, developing new advertisers on an on-going basis ?Present creative ideas to clients and creative services to meet advertising goals and increase share of business ?Maintain consistent customer contact with all accounts ?Make customers feel valued and important, utilizing knowledge of customer?s business and advertising goals ?Understand and perform all aspects of the selling cycle by preparing logical and well-researched proposals ?Make presentations in a persuasive manner, effectively closing deals by demonstrating the value or our product ?Make cold calls consistently and keep customer pipeline full at all times ?Assist in resolving billing and collection problems with clients ?Provide Traffic with continuity instructions and materials on or before deadlines ?Provide sales and station management with reports as requested ?Utilize all industry software, research and sales tools, and training available to sales staff ?Represent the station in a professional and ethical manner ?Monitor industry trends ?Understand and consistently follow internal procedures and policies ?Effective in working with Traffic, Production, and Accounting departments ?Other duties as assigned

Qualifications ?Education: College degree and 2 years sales experience required, broadcast and internet sales strongly preferred ?In-depth knowledge of his/her product and an understanding of the competitions strengths & weaknesses ?Proficient in Word, Excel, and Power Point required. Broadcast traffic software preferred ?Ability to consistently achieve goals, meet deadlines and schedules ?Strong interpersonal and organizational skills ?Highly motivated seller, self-starter, passionate for what he/she sells, positive team member

Work Environment The work environment is an office setting with frequent meetings and errands outside of the building. It is necessary for the employee to use his/her personal automobile to attend meetings outside of the office or complete errands.
