San Bernardino County Firefighters Battle Two Large Wildfires

San Bernardino County firefighters are trying to gain control of two wildfires that erupted Wednesday morning.

One of the fires is burning near Apple Valley, which is 90 miles north of Palm Springs.

The fire in Reeves Dry Lake was reported shortly before 9 a.m. and has grown to 25-acres, according to the California Highway Patrol and dispatchers with the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

Another fire, 20 miles to the southwest near Crystal Creek Road, was reported about 10 minutes later.

Firefighters were sent to the blaze, which was burning between Lucerne Valley and the southern boundary of the San Bernardino National Forest.

Neither fire is threatening any homes, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department.
