BNP Paribas Open Owner Larry Ellison Named 6th Richest In World
Forbes Magazine named part-time Rancho Mirage resident Larry Ellison as the sixth richest in the world on its annual list released on Wednesday.
Ellison, the founder and CEO of Oracle and the owner of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, has a net worth of $36 billion, according to Forbes’ list.

He also made the magazine’s list of richest Americans and ranked third, behind Microsoft’s Bill Gates, who has an estimated net worth of $61 billion and Berkshire Hathaway’s Warren Buffet, worth an estimated $44 billion..
Ellison lives part of the year in Rancho Mirage on an estate he purchased from Ted and Edra Blixseth in 2011 for $42.9 million.
In addition to founding software giant Oracle, Ellison also owns the BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament, which is currently happening at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells.
