Gov. Jerry Brown To Speak At Milanovich Funeral
Gov. Jerry Brown, D-Calif., will speak at Wednesday’s funeral service for Agua Caliente tribal leader Richard Milanovich, his office announced on Monday.
Brown will be among a list of government leaders who will be in Palm Springs to honor the man who many credit with re-shaping the skyline and attractions of the city.
On Monday, Milanovich’s body arrived at the Palm Springs Convention Center, where the public was allowed to pay their final respects through Tuesday.
The service on Wednesday will take place at 10 a.m. at the convention center, and some of the surrounding streets will be closed to traffic as a result:
* Northbound and southbound lanes of N. Avenida Caballeros, between E. Amado and N. Tahquitz, will be closed from 9 a.m. 6 p.m.
* Eastbound E.Tahquitz Canyon Way, between Avenida Caballeros and Hermosa Drive,will be closed between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
* Westbound E. Tahquitz Canyon Way will stay open unless crowd control is needed.
