2 Palm Springs Men Arrested For Public Sex On Gay Cruise

Two Southern California men have pleaded guilty to indecent exposure in Dominica following their arrest during a stop on a gay cruise of the Caribbean.

The Associated Press reports the men entered pleas on the eastern Caribbean island, where sex between two men is illegal.

They were arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure and the local equivalent of sodomy. Police said they had been seen having sex in plain sight of people on land.

The men were identified as 41-year-old John Robert Hart and 43-year-old Dennis Jay Mayer, of Palm Springs, Calif.

They were fined nearly $900 and are expected to be released Thursday.

Gay cruises have been popular for several years despite hostility to homosexuality in some parts of the region.
