Bradley with doctors after fracturing foot in Saturday’s boxing victory
Boxer Timothy Bradley suffered a fractured left foot in Saturday night’s match with Manny Pacquiao.
Bradley attended the post-fight news conference in a wheelchair and said he heard his left foot snap in the second round, said KESQ Sports Director Spencer Linton. Then, in the fifth round, he injured his right foot.
Through pain, Bradley went on to win in a highly controversial decision that bestowed the WBO welterweight championship.
Bradley was scheduled to see his doctor in the Palm Springs area on Monday. His wife told KESQ he spent most of the day with a medical team who conducted an MRI to assess what exactly was injured, but nothing else was made available on his health.
According to ESPN, Bradley won 115-113 on the scorecards of judges Duane Ford and C.J. Ross, while losing on Jerry Roth’s scorecard by the same margin. The Associated Press had Pacquiao winning 117-111.
Cathedral City Councilman Greg Pettis said there has been some discussion whether there could be some kind of community celebration for the native “Desert Storm” boxer, but right now, he said there is no official date set.
He said they want to include the Bradleys in the decision, and they’ve not heard from them yet.
