Firefighters in Beaumont are on the scene of a 2,000 acre brush fire.
It started around 1:20 this afternoon on Potrero Road and Wolfskill Truck Road.
It’s burning in the mountains about 5 miles south of Interstate 10.

The fire is now 10% contained, but there is no estimate on full containment or control.

People are seeing smoke as far away as Yucca Valley.
The fire is being pushed by the 20 mile per hour winds in the area.
24 engines — 4 helicopters — and 5 air tankers along with 285 fire fighters are on the scene.
No home are threatened and there are no injuries to report.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
