Puppies rescued in Cathedral City
Seven abandoned puppies were found near San El Jay Drive and 30th Avenue just after midnight Sunday.
A Cathedral City police officer was on a routine patrol in the area when he heard crying. The officer found a box hidden behind oleanders, holding 7 puppies inside. Three of the 7 puppies were dead while the rest were malnourished and very weak. The puppies are between 4 and 6 weeks old.
The puppies will be taken to a shelter.
