San Jacinto toddler strangled on window cord
Riverside County authorities say a toddler was strangled after a window-covering cord became wrapped around its neck.
The 14-month-old child died at a hospital Monday afternoon, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
A spokesman says the mother told deputies that she had left the room for only a few minutes while the child and a 3-year-old sibling were watching television.
The mother says she returned to find the 14-month-old unconscious on the couch with the cord wrapped around its neck.
