More people deal with no power
An underground transformer overheated on the corner of Vista Chino and North Via Norte, leaving 46 Palm SpringsSouthern California Edison customers without power starting at 11:00 Friday morning– but with full heat.
“I thought it would go right back on. Never in my mind did I imagine it would just be off. It’s just not part of normal living,” Robin Abrahams said.
As of about 8:30 Friday night, Abrahams was still without power.
Southern California Edison anticipated power to be back on by midnight.
About 50 to 60 Edison customers in Desert Hot Springs were also without power Friday night, no word on when they would have it back.
Total, about 100 Edison customers in the valley spent their Friday evening bearing the heat without power.
