Beer run turns bad for two teens in Bermuda Dunes

What had been a planned beer run turned bad for two teens caught in the act in Bermuda Dunes.

Riverside County Sheriff’s said it started just after 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Ralph’s store on Washington Street near Avenue 42 in Bermuda Dunes.

According to authorities, deputies received a call about two 17-year-olds that went into the Ralph’s store and tried to get away with beer. An employee tried to stop the teens, and when a bystander tried to help, the teens pulled out a knife.

Sheriff’s deputies said the suspects got into a car and were later stopped by officers on South California Drive near Palm Desert Country Club in Palm Desert.

The suspects were arrested and taken into custody without incident.
