Power restored after hundreds endure humid, hot day

Power was restored to nearly 100 Southern California Edison customers Sunday, after spending a night without power.

The outage began around 5:15 p.m. near Desert Horizons Drive and Guadalupe, according to Edison’s website.

Phyllis Connelly, who lives in Indian Wells, believes the problem is all too familiar.

“A year ago, we had this same problem with the same situation. Edison was supposed to fix the transformer and everything was supposed to be fine,” Connelly said .

Connelly was one of the 337 customers initially affected by the outage on a day where the Coachella Valley saw an average high of 101 degrees.

“It’s just so frustrating. As a customer of Edison, we pay so much in pricing and we get this result,” Connelly said.
