Home Alone Teen Foils Burglary

Palm Desert Sheriff’s Deputies are searching for a two burglars who tried to break into a home on Buttonwood Drive in Palm Desert early Wednesday morning.

Just before 9:30 A.M. one of the suspects kicked in the door of the home thinking it was unoccupied. Deputies say a 14 year old boy was sleeping and was awakened by the door kick. The teen saw the men then went back to his room and climbed out the window as the burglars sped off in a getaway car waiting out front.

The boy then ran around the back of the house and called his dad who then called 9-1-1. Deputies responded to the home but the burglars had already left the area.

Check back later for more details.
