Police searching for Indio liquor store robber

Indio Police are searching for a man who robbed an Indio liquor store at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Police spokesman Ben Guitron says the store is located at the Parkway Market on the 43-900 block of Golf Center Parkway. The suspect armed with a knife walked in and demanded money from the clerk.

As the clerk was getting ready to hand over the money, he was stabbed in the hand by the suspect, says Guitron. The crook then ran out of the store.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his late 20’s, 5’6 or 5’7, with a thin build and tattoos on his left hand and fingers. He was wearing a full face motorcycle helmet, dark pants, a black hoodie and black jacket and had a red fanny pack.
