Police arrest Bank of America robbery suspect

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department says deputies arrested one of two suspects who tried to rob a Palm Desert bank Monday morning.

According to Riverside County Sheriff Department Spokesman Angel Ramos, the two men entered a Bank of America bank branch near Monterey and Dinah Shore Drive just after 9:00 a.m. The branch is located in the Walmart shopping center parking lot.

One suspect pointed a handgun at a teller and demanded money. The teller refused and the suspects then fled the bank on foot, but later drove away in a Chrysler P.T. Cruiser.

The suspect arrested is 34 year old Ross Davis from Hemet. The outstanding suspect is described as a black man, between 20-30 years old, six feet tall, medium build. He was reportedly wearing a knit cap, dark jacket and light colored pants.
