Missing California infant girl found safely
A missing 11-month-old girl inside an SUV that was stolen in Northern California and triggered an Amber Alert has been found safe.
Authorities in San Jose say Gabriela Quintero was located inside the Jeep Liberty late Monday morning, about five hours after it was taken in front of her home.
The Jeep was located in a neighborhood across town. The girl has been reunited with her mother.
San Jose Police Sgt. Jason Dwyer says the girl’s mother had apparently placed the girl inside the vehicle around 6:40 a.m. when she briefly went back inside her house and saw it being driven away when she came back out.
Dwyer says investigators are looking into who took the vehicle and whether the abduction was intentional.
