Crash knocks out power in Rancho Mirage

Power is back on for about a hundred Rancho Mirage residents after a hit-and-run driver hit a power pole.

The outage was reported at 3:15 a.m. Sunday, but affected only a fifth of the
entire circuit. By 11:30 a.m. seven homes and businesses were still without
power.

The pole that was hit was near Ginger Rogers Road in a gated community near
the Mission Hills Country Club.

No word on what caused the crash.
