SIG alert cleared on I-10 in Banning

The California Highway Patrol issued a SIG alert late Monday night for Eastbound Interstate 10 in Banning.

Two lanes of the freeway were expected to be closed until at least 1 a.m. Tuesday morning.

There was a major back-up after a crash involving a travel trailer and multiple cars.

The crash happened shortly before 10 p.m. Monday night near Ramsey street in Banning.

There was no word on injuries as of 11 p.m. Monday night.

News Channel 3 was told the trailer that was involved in the crash was destroyed.

Viewers who called the News Channel 3 newsroom said they didn’t believe wind was a factor in the crash.
