Power outage leaves nearly 400 without power

Problems with power lines sparked an outageaffecting 387 businesses and residents in Palm Springs today, a SouthernCalifornia Edison spokesman said.

The outage was reported at 9:56 a.m. and occurred in an residential areabetween Golf Club Drive and Lawrence Street, SCE spokesman Amado Zavala said.

An exact cause was not immediately known but a work crew was on sitecorrecting the malfunction. Restoration of power was expected by 3:30 p.m.,Zavala said.
