Final ex-Vanderbilt player Vandenburg posts bond

The final former Vanderbilt player has been released from jail after posting bond on five charges of aggravated rape.

Brandon Vandenburg, 20, of Indio, Calif., was released Wednesday night after posting $350,000 bail. Vandenburg had been held since turning himself in Aug. 10, and he also is charged with one count of tampering with evidence and a count of unlawful photography.

Vandenburg and four other former players are charged with raping an unconscious 21-year-old student at a campus dormitory in June. Vanderbilt officials learned of the incident checking surveillance video for another matter, and the four were dismissed from the university June 29.

Cory Batey, 19 of Nashville, Tenn.; Brandon Banks, 19, of Brandywine, Md.; and Jaborian “Tip” McKenzie, 19, of Woodville, Miss., already had posted bail.
