Palm Springs City Hall collecting canned food items

Palm Springs officials are collecting items for a local food bank through the end of September, which is Hunger Awareness Month in the Coachella Valley.

People can bring canned food for the FIND Food Bank to the lobby of Palm Springs City Hall at 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way and to the Palm Springs Public Library at 300 S. Sunrise Way, city spokeswoman Amy Blaisdell said.

FIND distributes food to more than 80,000 people per month in the Coachella Valley via more than 100 community organizations, including soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, after-school programs and senior centers.
