Riverside County International Agriculture Summit held in Indio today

The Riverside County International Agriculture Summit will be held in Indio Wednesday.

The free event starts at 8 a.m. at the Coachella Valley History Museum.

Glenda Humiston, state director for rural development for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, along with international trade experts and local growers, will give presentations on how growers, packing houses, food processing businesses and wineries can increase their sales overseas, according to the Riverside County Economic Development Agency.

Other speakers include Steve Pastor, executive director of the Riverside County Farm Bureau; Riverside County Agricultural Commissioner John Snyder; and Norman Arikawa, assistant director of trade development for the Port of Los Angeles.
