Crash closes lanes on Highway 62

Westbound Highway 62 was closed Wednesday night between Morongo Valley and Desert Hot Springs because of a 2 car collision.

The C.H.P. reports the crash happened around 9:20 Wednesday night on a steep, winding section of the highway just North of Indian.

The Westbound lanes were closed in Morongo Valley, preventing people in the Hi-Desert communities from driving into the Coachella Valley.

There was no word on injuries or what caused the crash.
