Blowing sand closes roads in Palm Springs at the Wash

Expect some road closures Sunday morning as a result of Saturday night’s winds.

They’re the usual closures in the Whitewater Wash area of Palm Springs.

Gene Autry Trail, North Indian Canyon, and Vista Chino were closed by police Saturday night.

Ramon Road should be open and can be used an alternate route to get to date palm drive in order to gain access to Interstate 10.

The Palm Springs Police Department says the roads will remain closed until the visibility levels are safe and the sand is removed from the roads.
