District moves to bring back teachers

The Coachella Valley Unified School District will try to bring back all 54 teachers who previously received pink slips notifying them they may not have jobs in the fall.

At a special meeting tonight, the school board decided to bring back 6 elementary school teachers and changed their seniority dates.

The board also decided to honor the administration’s recommendation to bring back a total of 28 teachers.

Coachella Valley Teacher Association President, Richard Razo, said the school board also promised to continue to work on ways to bring back all of the district’s teachers.
