Multiple fires burning in San Diego County
A state fire official says an aggressive wildfire has burned at least 30 homes in the Southern California city of Carlsbad.
State fire Capt. Mike Moehler told KCAL-TV that all of the homes are in the same neighborhood.
No injuries were reported.
Moehler said engines are being called in from across the region to fight the fire. The blaze was one of several wildfires that firefighters in San Diego County were battling amid hot, dry and windy conditions.
Carlsbad is a small coastal city of suburban homes 30 miles north of San Diego.
City officials said mandatory evacuations were in progress Wednesday, and more than 11,000 notices were sent to homes and businesses.
The Legoland California amusement park has been shut down due to a power outage.
The fire on the outskirts of San Diego had threatened thousands of homes Tuesday and was 25 percent contained.
