Fire displaces family in Thermal mobile home park

Cal Fire has contained a mobile home fire in Thermal. A family of 6 is homeless Friday after the flames destroy their mobile home park near Echols Road near Harrison Street.

The fire broke out in the park just after 4:00 p.m. Cal Fire says they had several resources on scene fighting the fire, and that the mobile home was partially involved in fire when they arrived.

Cal Fire was able to stop the flames from spreading to nearby mobile homes in the park, but the unit where it began is being called a total loss.

Cal fire believes that burning incense was the cause, but are still on scene investigating and mopping up at this hour. Cal Fire has also asked the Red Cross to help the family.
