Subway Station-Phony Bomb

(AP) – Authorities are seeking a person who left behind a mock explosive device that forced the evacuation of a downtown Los Angeles subway station.

The Sheriff’s Department says transit deputies found the object at the Pershing Square Metro Station early Friday morning after passengers reported it.

The station was evacuated and trains were briefly stopped while investigators examined the device.

They quickly found that it was not an explosive, but it was placed and made to look as though it was.

Investigators are looking at surveillance video of the station and asking for public help in identifying who might have placed the object there.
