Mother, daughter rescued from Bump and Grind hiking trail

A mother and her daughter were rescued from the Bump and Grind hiking trail in Palm Desert Monday morning.

Rescue crews from Cal Fire helped the pair down the trail around 8:20 a.m.

Battalion Chief Rick Griggs says the two were dizzy and dehydrated.

A helicopter was used to help locate the hikers.

Friends of the pair say the mother and her daughter were experienced hikers, but were not accustomed to the desert heat.

They were sent to a local hospital for treatment.

CAL FIRE reminds everyone to prepare for a hike with the proper attire, nutrition, and communication.
