Caltrans to start working on Hwy 111 in Palm Springs
The California Department of Transportation will be performing road construction on Highway 111 from Golf Club Drive to just north of Ramon Road in Palm Springs beginning this week.
According to a release from Caltrans, the pavement rehabilitation will begin on Wednesday, September 3. The work will take place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. to limit the impact for those who drive in the area.
Officials said drivers should know that there will always be one lane open to traffic. There will be minimal delays during the project, but you should use an alternate route to avoid the work when possible.
Caltrans officials said the pavement rehabilitation will provide for longer lasting pavement and a smoother ride for motorists. They ask that you be alert and pay attention to all signs and workers throughout the construction phase.
Officials didn’t state how long the project was expected to last.
