Congressman Ruiz swears-in for 2nd term

Congressman Raul Ruiz started his second term representing the 36th District on Tuesday. He said he’s ready to get to work and set aside the partisan bickering on Capitol Hill to get things accomplished.

“We need to cut through the dysfunction for the American people like I’ve done in the past, I’m not going to wait for an act of congress or congress to get its act together,” Congressman Ruiz said. “I’m going to get things done for the people in my district and work in a bipartisan way, and work with people on both sides of the aisle to do the right thing for the people that I serve.”

Congressman Ruiz said he’s humbled for the opportunity to serve another two years and that his priorities are the same in working for seniors, veterans and small businesses.
