California man sentenced for setting wife on fire
Prosecutors say a Central California man who set his wife on fire last year has been sentenced to 20 years to life in prison.
Eugene Bruno of Visalia pleaded guilty last month to attempted murder, aggravated mayhem, torture, corporal injury to a spouse and assault with a flammable substance.
The Tulare County district attorney’s office said the 49-year-old received the maximum penalty at the sentencing Monday.
On June 29th, 2013, Bruno doused his wife with gasoline in their Visalia home and set her on fire. She suffered third degree burns to 80 percent of her body.
