Carjacking suspect arrested in Palm Springs with multiple guns
A 33-year-old man from Riverside was arrested with multiple guns in Palm Springs early Wednesday morning after he was suspected of pulling a gun on a man in an attempted carjacking.
According to a release from the Palm Springs Police Department, the victim reported the incident at 5:50 a.m. in the 19000 block of Ruppert Street. He said a man approached him, demanded keys to his vehicle and displayed a handgun.
Officers said the victim drove away and reported the incident from a nearby business.
P.S.P.D. searched the area and located the suspect, Douglas Scott Fulk, near 20th Avenue and Worsley Road around 8:20 a.m., after someone reported a possible suspect in the area.
After searching Fulk, officers said they found a loaded and concealed handgun on him. Police found a loaded and concealed handgun in a bag that Fulk had with him as well.
Officers said they also found an unloaded shotgun in Fulk’s nearby vehicle.
Fulk was taken into custody and booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning. He’s facing charges of attempted carjacking, criminal threats, two violations of carrying a loaded firearm and two violations of carrying a concealed firearm, according to police.
