Drunk driving suspected in head-on Coachella crash
Two motorists, one reportedly driving drunk, suffered major injuries in a head-on crash in Coachella, a police sergeant said Sunday.
Stefan Thomas Keen, a 53-year-old resident of Santa Monica driving a red Ford Focus, allowed the northbound car to veer into oncoming traffic on Enterprise Way and strike a southbound blue Acura 3.2L, said Coachella police Sgt. Jessica Vanderhoof.
Vanderhoof said police were dispatched to the scene at Enterprise Way and Avenue 54 at 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
“Due to Keen’s injuries, charges will be filed out of custody,” the police sergeant said.
There was no other immediate information.
