2 people arrested following DUI checkpoints in Palm Desert

Two people were arrested following a weekend DUI checkpoint in Palm Desert.

The Palm Desert police department conducted a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint on Saturday at highway 111 and Town Center Way between 8 p.m. and 3 a.m.

Officers screened 793 vehicle and arrested two drivers on suspicion of DUI.

Fourteen drivers were cited.

The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
