Hikers Dehydrated and Stranded on Canyon Hiking Trail

Authorities launched a search today for four hikers stranded from exhaustion and dehydration in the Indian Canyons trails.

The hikers called Palm Springs Police about 2 p.m. roughly two miles
into the Fern Canyon trail, asking for help getting out, saying they said they
were dehydrated and that one hiker might have heat stroke.

The Palm Springs police search and rescue team, with help from the fire
department, coordinated a rescue effort.

Temperatures in Palm Spring hovered near the 90s today.
