Armed robbery suspect arrested in Indio

A suspect who was being sought by the Indio Police Department in connection to an armed robbery that happened on January 18 was arrested Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

Authorities requested the public’s help in tracking down 20-year-old Narcisco Jacob Pea on January 29. Pea was wanted in connection to the robbery of four victims on Jan. 18 in the 80700 block of Diamondback Trail in the City of Indio.

Just after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, an officer with the Indio Police Department’s Post-Release Accountability and Compliance Team spotted Pena in the passenger seat of a vehicle traveling northbound on Van Buren Street, south of Avenue 48 in Coachella.

Police said the vehicle was stopped for a routine traffic violation and Pena was arrested on an active warrant for armed robbery. The driver of the vehicle wasn’t connected to the robbery and was released at the scene, according to the Indio Police Department.
